Within the first 14 days, we'll collect leaf samples and test for viruses and systemic pathogens, with absolutely no fear of cross contamination. Once we have sifted through and picked the most vigorous, perfect progeny, we'll advance the seedlings to the next growth stage.
Once the selected seedlings have had another 14-21 days to continue growing, we'll head back into the TC Lab to take tissue cultured clones from the mothers. These will be bound for the flower room. It takes a little longer than traditional methods, but it's worth it in the end.
Why don't we flower the original mother plant from seed?
This is important.
Plants grown and flowered directly from seed are often more vigorous with more uniform growth than a traditional clone. On the other hand, the flower time, and flower initiation time will often take longer than a plant from clone, regardless of light cycle. There are also other morphological differences, and hormonal differences that come into play here. This means if we based all the testing from the original mother plant, it wouldn't line up with what our clients receive.
Using our method of flowering tissue cultured clones derived from the seed mother plant, allows us to show the customer exactly what they can expect. It also allows us to reach the same level of vigor a plant from seed will show, without the morphological differences or flower time variables.
On to the seeds themselves...did we mention we have over 30,000 to choose from?
Selecting the genetics alone is a tough task with such an immense library. Lucky for us, we're partnered with the breeders!
Our first run will start with handpicked genetics from the breeders, who will be involved throughout the entire process. We're starting the A line up with cultivars from the legends Sonic Seeds, T.H.Seeds, Karma, GGG, as well as some exciting heirloom varieties from Afghanistan and Nepal that the west has never seen.
The prodigy from these seeds will not only come breeder backed and branded, but also with full batch records, chronological photos from tissue cultured clone to hand trimmed dry flower, full COA's, and of course our support throughout your entire grow cycle.
Keep your eyes open for these exciting new cultivars coming down the pipeline. We'll keep you updated on the process!
